Some events that POWIR has hosted or helped organize include the Anti-Drone Week of Action, Dump Trump protests, Free Rasmea Odeh Campaign, the annual Close Guantanamo Bay Prison march, Hands Off Syria protests, Fort Lauderdale May Day rally, Nakba Workshop, Peace in Colombia International Panel, Solidarity With Ferguson march, Charleston Massacre vigil and protest, and much more!

POWIR works with various groups in the South Florida community and is affiliated with several local and national organizations. The group has worked alongside CodePink! For Peace, United National Antiwar Committee, Green Party of Broward and Miami Dade County, and Peace, Justice, and Sustainability Florida (among many others). United as one anti-war movement, voices for peace and justice will prevail!

Who We Are:
People's Opposition to War, Imperialism, and Racism (POWIR) is a grassroots anti-war group that organizes in South Florida. We oppose all occupations, sanctions, and interventions imposed on countries by the US and its allies. We demand the withdrawal of all US troops and military advisers from sovereign countries, immediate cessation of all US drone strikes and bombing campaigns, and that US weapons and dollars stop being funneled into destabilization campaigns.
POWIR stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their right to return and to live in one, free Palestine. We also stand in solidarity with black and brown communities fighting for justice at home. POWIR unites with the movements against police brutality, privatized prisons, and deportations. We believe that the forces that seeks to dominate and oppress people abroad are the same that continue to oppress the poor and communities of color at home. So we try to strike a blow against those forces at every opportunity.
